戦国時代に人質をよくとりましたよね、和睦の証として。そのときに相手の男の子をとった場合、とにかく言うことを全部聞いてやれ、という教育を敢えて徹底するというのが通例だったそうです。そうすれば将来大人になって万一戦になっても、ろくな大人に育っていないから脅威にならない、という考え方なのですね。
またイギリスでも「子供をスポイルするのは簡単だ。それはＮＯと言わないことだ」、という言い方をします。子育て中のみなさん、ＮＯ！を連発してみっちりしごいてやってくださいね。いい大人に育ちますよ（笑）。
